BRUC executes €474 million portfolio refinancing for 858 MW operating assets which incorporates an accordion feature to accommodate and up to 650 MW of BESS

January 2, 2026.- BRUC has executed a € 474 million non-recourse portfolio refinancing covering 858 MWp of operating renewable assets, arranged with BNP AM, Banco Santander, Banco Sabadell, Export Development Canada (EDC) and Banco Cooperativo; and the financial advisory of Banco Santander and Astris Finance.

This transaction, classified as “green loan”, refinances the existing debt while structurally embedding Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as a core value lever within the portfolio’s long-term business plan. The assets included in this financing are part of the company owned by BRUC Energy (51%) and Interogo (49 %).

The financing enhances energy management flexibility and revenue optimisation. The structure is pioneering in the Spanish market in enabling the future financing of up to 650 MW of co-located BESS under hybrid PPA frameworks. A dedicated accordion tranche has been incorporated to fund battery capex, subject to preagreed
technical, commercial and financial parameters, allowing BESS deployment to be executed within the existing financing perimeter.

This approach positions storage as a scalable and bankable extension of BRUC’s operating platform, fully aligned with its business plan and the evolving dynamics of the Iberian power market.

The participation of Tier I financial institutions reflects a strong validation of BRUC’s integrated solar-plus-storage strategy, asset quality and management and execution capabilities. Furthermore it establishes a replicable financing framework for future BESS-enabled portfolios in Spain.
“We are pioneers in financing solar assets with battery hybridization, which shows the confidence of financial institutions in BRUC’s business plan,” says Luis Venero, CEO of the company.
