BRUC publishes its first Sustainability Report
- Closed 2024 with 1,538 MW of solar photovoltaic energy in operation and 927 MW under construction.
- Generated energy to supply more than half a million homes.
- Committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2045.
Madrid, June 5, 2025 – BRUC has taken a decisive step in its sustainability strategy with the publication, for the first time and on a voluntary basis, of its Sustainability Report 2024. This milestone marks an exercise in transparency and corporate responsibility, aligned with the company’s core values: integrity, growth, excellence and sustainability.
Although BRUC is currently not required to present the non-financial information statement under Law 11/2018 or to comply with the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the company has decided to anticipate future regulatory requirements and demonstrate its strong will to integrate ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria into its business model.
The main indicators of the 2024 Sustainability Report are:
- BRUC closed 2024 with 1,538 MW of solar PV in operation and 927 MW under construction. This data demonstrates great progress in achieving its 9,100 MW portfolio of PV, wind and storage assets.
- In 2024, BRUC generated 2,018 GWh of emission-free energy, representing a 40% increase over the previous year. This growth has made it possible to avoid the emission of 524,785 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, equivalent to the pollution produced by 353,221 combustion vehicles. In addition, the energy produced could supply the consumption of 512,936 homes in Spain, highlighting the company’s impact on energy sustainability at the national level.
- BRUC has calculated, for the first time, its carbon footprint and has set itself the goal of reducing it annually, with the ultimate goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045.
- In 2024, BRUC’s pay gap has been negligible, demonstrating BRUC’s strong commitment to equal opportunity. Additionally, 100% of the team has permanent contracts, which contributes to the stability and commitment of the team.
- BRUC actively contributes to the local communities where it is present, generating significant socioeconomic benefits, promoting job creation and developing social initiatives that address the specific needs of each region. Through these actions, BRUC drives local and rural development, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of the municipalities where it is present.
- BRUC is a relevant actor for the fulfillment of the European Union’s plans in terms of sustainable financing, as it complies with the Green Loan Principles in all its financing, ensuring that the funds are exclusively destined to projects with clear environmental benefits.
Sandra de Linos, BRUC’s Head of Sustainability, says: “This report not only reflects and consolidates BRUC’s technical and operational progress, but also its commitment to decarbonization, energy transition, society and the creation of sustainable value for all its stakeholders.”
