BRUC renews its corporate debt of 650 million to advance its 6,600 MW clean energy business plan

BRUC renews its corporate debt of 650 million to advance its 6,600 MW clean energy business plan August 7, 2025.– BRUC, one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing companies in the renewable energy sector, has renewed its corporate debt for up to 650 million euros. Schroders Capital, Infranity, Instituto de Crédito Oficial, BNP Paribas and Santander and ING acting also as green loan coordinators, have renewed their confidence in BRUC’s ability to fulfil its business plan, with an asset portfolio totalling 6,600 megawatts (MW). This operation, classified as green loan, reproduces and improves on the conditions of the financing agreed by BRUC and seven financial institutions in September 2023 to develop the company’s business plan. Now, two years later, the institutions have extended this line of financing up to 650 million euros. This amount ensures a substantial part of the necessary contributions for investment in the construction and commissioning of a portfolio of photovoltaic solar, wind generation plants in Spain totalling 6,600 MW. This financing will also enable hybridization through wind and battery storage at several plants already in operation. Currently, BRUC has 1,963 MW in operation, 487 under construction and another 4,150 in development. In the first half of 2025, it produced 1,649 GWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 419,263 Spanish households. This clean production has avoided the emission of 477,000 tonnes of CO2. Juan Béjar, president of BRUC, considers this operation “a sign of backing from Europe’s leading financial institutions for the progress of the business project embodied by BRUC.” He adds: “Our credibility is based on meeting the business plan, even when the scenario presents certain uncertainties. We have a long-term vision, which is the foundation of business and environmental sustainability.” BRUC’s CEO, Luis Venero, emphasizes that “the financial institutions are aware that BRUC’s asset portfolio is supported by solid and long-term international shareholders, the professional capabilities of the management team, and a global environment which, beyond short-term opinions, is favorable to the rapid development of clean energies due to their contribution to energy independence and the fight against climate change.” About Bruc BRUC is one of the largest and most dynamic renewable energy groups in Spain. Founded by entrepreneur Juan Béjar, its shareholders are OPTrust and USS. Luis Venero is the company’s CEO. BRUC believes there is an urgent need for an energy transition toward a decarbonized economy. A very significant part of this transition relies on the development of clean energies, whose contribution to the energy systems of countries must grow steadily. BRUC’s mission is to generate attractive investment opportunities in the field of renewable energies and to manage assets with the aim of contributing to environmental sustainability, substantially reducing pollutant emissions, and driving energy independence. BRUC currently has an asset portfolio in Spain and Japan (photovoltaic solar, wind and storage) totalling 6,600 MW in operation, construction and development.
