BRUC receives the award for the best financing agreement of the year linked to sustainability from the IJ Global Awards Madrid, March 13, 2025 – BRUC, one of the fastest growing and most dynamic groups in the renewable energy sector in Spain, has received, for the second consecutive year, the award for the best financing deal of the year linked to sustainability granted by IJ Global Awards. Claudio Martín, BRUC’s financing director, received the award during the gala held in London. The IJ Global Awards recognize the most outstanding financing and refinancing transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector carried out during 2024 in Europe and Africa. The jury is composed of an international committee of judges, all of whom are industry professionals. IJ Global Awards has recognized the financing agreement reached between BRUC and the financial institutions Santander, ING, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, Sabadell, BBVA and Unicaja, with Allen & Overy and Linklaters as legal advisors. This agreement, for a total amount of 722.7 million euros, is for the construction and commissioning of 1,102 MW of photovoltaic solar energy projects located in the provinces of Seville, Malaga, Cadiz and Soria. Of these projects, 790 MW are already in operation, bringing the group’s total operating capacity to 1,963 MW. The projects covered by the financing agreement will produce 1,841 GWh of clean energy per year, supplying the electricity consumption of approximately 467,853 households, and will avoid the emission of 479,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere annually. The financing agreement was made under the “green loan” formula, a loan modality specifically designed to finance projects that have a positive impact on the environment and a direct link to sustainability. With this type of operation, BRUC reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change, ensuring that its projects contribute to a greener and cleaner future.
