BRUC will invest 1,030 million euros in Andalusia over the next three years.

  • The total investment figure in the region amounts to 2,260 million, of which 1,230 million have already been disbursed.
  • BRUC’s portfolio of assets in Seville, Malaga, Cadiz and Huelva totals 3,112 MW.

Seville, October 29, 2024 – BRUC, one of the fastest growing and most dynamic companies in the renewable energy sector, will invest 2.26 billion euros in Andalusia as part of its strategic plan until 2028. Of this amount, 1.23 billion euros have already been disbursed to finance the development and construction of solar photovoltaic power generation plants and another 1.03 billion euros will be allocated over the next three years to the expansion of a generation park with a total capacity of 3,112 megawatts (MW).

BRUC currently has 13 solar photovoltaic generation plants in operation, totalling 795 MW. These facilities are located in the provinces of Seville (10), Huelva (2) and Cadiz (1). In addition, it is building another 17 plants with a combined capacity of 850 MW in the aforementioned provinces plus Malaga. In addition to these plants in operation and under construction, there are another 33 projects in the development phase (1,467 MW), which include the hybridization of plants with solar energy and battery storage.

These plants represent the creation of 1,652 qualified jobs and contribute to the reindustrialization of the territory, on the one hand, and to the generation of economic activity in sparsely populated rural areas, on the other.

Andalusia is a priority community for BRUC. Its portfolio of assets includes the Don Rodrigo node, with 400 kilovolts (kV) and a power evacuation capacity of 1,000 MW, the largest private renewable generation node in the community.

By 2028, with all the plants in operation, BRUC expects to produce 3.02 terawatt-hours (TWh) annually, the consumption of nearly 800,000 homes, 25% of Andalusian households. This production will ensure the supply of electricity for the community and will make it one of the leading exporters to the rest of Spain.

This commitment to sustainability through the development of clean energies is best expressed in its contribution to the fight against climate change. In 2028, the BRUC park in Andalusia will avoid the emission of 824,705 tons of carbon dioxide.
