17 May BRUC promotes training in renewable energies
Yesterday, a group of students from the San Francisco de Padua International School visited our Cartago A1 photovoltaic complex, located in Carmona, in an educational visit where the students were able to learn about its operation in a dynamic and entertaining way and learned about the development of renewable energies from the field, in collaboration with the Texla team, which has been responsible for the commissioning, engineering and environmental management of the project and personnel of Solarpack, which performs maintenance work on our projects. The visit was also attended by Miguel Montero Bueno, Texla’s general manager.
An experience that was not only a perfect complement to their learning in the classroom, but also a unique experience for them that also underlines the relevance of environmental education in today’s world.
During the session, the possibilities offered by photovoltaic energy, the different phases of a photovoltaic solar plant and the importance of the environment and sustainability, among other topics, were highlighted.
During the day, experts from Bruc and Texla also explained the safety measures to be taken into account in an electrical installation, as well as the compatibility of solar energy with agriculture and livestock. The students were able to see the water troughs for animals in the complex, ponds, observe the regeneration of riverbanks, sheep carrying out vegetation control and even spotted species such as the imperial eagle or the Montagu’s harrier in the area.
We are committed to educating and supporting new generations on their way to a deeper and more practical understanding of renewable energies and environmental management and we believe that training in the field of clean energy is a fundamental tool to contribute to the energy transition and decarbonization. The visit was a unique occasion in which we were able to show how renewable energies can work together with the environment for sustainable development.
With this type of initiative, whose purpose is to promote the development of the communities in which we are present, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable development and the dissemination of the benefits of renewable energies.
The complex deploys 263.476 MW of green energy, occupying a total area of 488 hectares, and avoids the emission of 139,700 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, supplying some 141,700 families.
